Election 2012

I have been aware of ten presidential elections before this one. This one is the first that really troubles me. This election is built on lies, misrepresentations, and racism. Of course I remember Richard M. Nixon (Tricky Dick), but Mitt Romney makes him seem like a choir boy. These revelations are what makes this election so eerie.

The GOP has perpetrated many lies: Obama is a Muslim, socialist, and many other things that I won’t print here. They have filibustered, ignored, and tried to repeal everything he has proposed. Their misrepresentations are so transparent that I am appalled that so many Americans believe them. There is no doubt in my mind that the primary reason for the GOP’s hatred of Obama lies in the color of his skin.

The GOP also wants to put women in their place: barefoot and pregnant, seen and not heard, and out of the world of men. They want to silence women and keep them subservient.

Would you want to live under this kind of government? One in which the government only caters to the rich, and forgets about everyone else? A government which does not want to provide help to the downtrodden, but will easily come into your bedroom, snatch away your birth control, repeal Roe v Wade, defund Planned Parenthood and Public Television, and cut every investment program you have?

Social Security, Medicare, and other so-called “entitlements” are in reality investments – I paid into them out of every paycheck I’ve received. My paycheck was cut by at least 25% because of all the deductions to the federal government and my old age.

  1. I concurr with your statement. No president in the history of the USA has ever taken the brunt of such blatant racism, virtrolic campaign attacks of hate and lies! Why is that, the obvious, the color of his skin. No other presidential candidate or incumbent has ever had to show verification of citizenship nor asked to provide proof of college grades; reprehensible! Obama saved this country from a catastrophic financial crisis! I voted for him 2008 and early voted for him again in 2012,.
